Together for Curaçao

Morena Eco Resort
Preferred Partner of the month March

our sustainable partner of the month januari is (1).png

Our goal:

Morena has chosen to work on a project with local recycle company Green Phenix to inspire honest work and economic growth (SDG 8) and at the same time use their innovative work methods (SDG 12) to stimulate a circular economy.

Why is Morena Resort partnering with Water Refill Program Curaçao?

As the first certified ECO resort on Curacao (2009) we encountered a lot of struggles in our certification processes, because Curacao was behind on a lot of things. The innovative and so much needed initiatives from as well D-Tap as Green Phenix, make it possible for companies/hotels/resorts to really improve in being sustainable, and they create the awareness on the island which is much needed.

Since the start of D-Tap we are selling the D-Bottles to our guests and we are one of the refill stations on the island. The Water Refill Program supports in minimizing the use of single use plastic but also creates island wide awareness, which is being supported by different partners. This collaboration of partners from different branches creates a strong platform, that together with the adaption of the different SDG’s by each partner will have a big impact.

Morena Eco Resort

Our vision is to be the best choice for the eco-traveler in Curaçao, by combining sustainability and luxury as much as possible. We want to keep our golden eco awards (Travelife, Green Globe and GreenKey) and perhaps add others.

The mission of Morena Resort is creating the ultimate experience for our guests where sustainability, service, quality and safety are top priority and we strive to improve every year. We pursue the established objectives and strategy, for the implementation of our ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ towards employees and guests, but also towards the local and global community in general.

To obtain our mission and vision we believe in our core values and trust that our employees contribute to these:

  • Guest and service orientation

  • Emphasis on sustainability

  • Cooperation and teamwork

  • Honesty and trust

  • Quality minded

Therefore, at Morena Resort:

  1. We actively contribute to the development of our expertise and the transfer of our knowledge to others who want to learn.

  2. We inform our partners that we take Corporate Social Responsibility.

  3. We make clear agreements with the customers, clients and/or suppliers for the quality of our services and monitor the quality we provide.

Water Refill Program Curaçao and Morena Resort forces to adopt a sustainble goal together

Every city or country has it own special edition design bottle, designed by a local artist or illustrator. With this special edition bottle we want to create awarenesses for their work and art sector. Art is a vital element for our community. It strengthens local economies and creates jobs for people who care about the community. It is a great way for people  to learn about (their) culture, enjoy artistic experiences, support the  economy and being sustainable by using a reusable water bottle.
