Maduro &Curiel's Bank
Preferred Partner of the month October
DRINK MORE WATER FOR A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE AND REDUCE PLASTIC WASTE
Maduro & Curiel's Bank is proudly Preferred Partner of 'Water Refill Program Curaçao' of the month October. Our common goals are; we want everyone to drink more water for a good health and to reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles in Curaçao. We also want to support the community to work together for a more sustainable island and join our forces for a more healthier lifestyle for all of us.
CSR policy of Maduro Curiel's Bank
Michael de Sola, the current Managing Director of the Bank, put it best when he said, “The term Corporate Social Responsibility is not really used at MCB; not because we aren’t responsible, but because being responsible in our communities is part of the Bank’s DNA. It’s who we are; every employee feels that this is important. Upon establishing the bank, one of the main principles was to be a corporate citizen and, as Shon Jojo Corea best put it, ‘the bank to be raised for the glory of our native island.’”
Water Refill Program Curaçao and Maduro Curiel's Bank join forces to adopt a sustainble goal together
The 'Water Refill Program Curaçao' started out as a pilot in June 2019. During the lockdown, D-TAP by D-Bottle has converted their findings into a renewed policy. Through the 'Water Refill Program', there is a broader commitment to a more sustainable Curaçao, both short term and long term. The Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations became the compass of the program.
Core values of the program are:
1. Environmental protection
2. Social development
3. Economic Development
Based on these core values, 10 sustainability objectives have been set up. Maduro & Curiel's Bank is going to focus on two of these 10 sustainability goals, namely 'support to drink more water for good health'and 'Reduce single use plastic'. Curaçao tap water, is one of the best in the world. This bottle makes it easy to find unpackaged, cold tap water in Curaçao, so as long as you have your reusable 'D-TAP' bottle, you will never have to buy bottled water again.
