Dolphin Suites Hotel & Wellness Curaçao
Preferred Partner of the month January

Our goal:

Dolphin Suites & Wellness Curaçao and D-TAP share a number of common goals: to protect the ocean, to commit to a cleaner Curaçao, and to inspire and support others to live sustainably and consciously. We focus on minimizing the use of plastic on the island, as well as handling the separation and disposal of waste in a sustainable manner. At Dolphin Suites, one of our core values is taking care of each other. Together with D-TAP, we’d like to emphasize the importance of this in getting the best out of yourself and each other.

Why is Dolphin Suites & Wellness Curaçao partnering with Water Refill Program Curaçao?

Dolphin Suites has been a water refill station and active seller of the D-Bottle since august 2019. With this, the hotel is able to contribute towards minimizing the use of plastic on the island and encourage visitors to drink enough water for the tropical climate.

Dolphin Suites & Wellness Curaçao policy

As a care hotel, the well-being of both the guest and the environment is central to everything we do. Since our inception we have used sustainable and environmentally friendly business practices, such as the use of solar boilers and energy efficient equipment and lighting. The hotel pool water, containing salt and magnesium, has a minimum chlorine  and the hotel and its rooms are cleaned with biodegradable cleaning products. In April 2016, Dolphin Suites was the first hotel on Curaçao to start separating waste. Sustainability is at the forefront of phase two of the hotel, with natural light and cooling breezes worked into the design of the building. Other sustainable elements include a water irrigation system, grease traps, the use of solar panels, and water heating and control systems to minimize the use of energy.

Outside of the hotel itself, care for Curaçao and its residents is an important aspect of our vision. To this end, we like to look for opportunities to contribute to the well-being of the local community, such as when we organized a hand bike expedition on the island with Paralympic hand bike participants from Holland. This expedition allowed us to open a clinic on Curaçao for people with disabilities. Dolphin Suites is also an ambassador of the You Are a Hero foundation, an initiative aimed at increasing the quality of life for people with disabilities in Curaçao.

Water Refill Program Curaçao and Dolphin Suites & Wellness Curaçao forces to adopt a sustainble goal together

The 'Water Refill Program Curaçao' started out as a pilot in June 2019. During the lockdown, D-TAP by D-Bottle has converted their findings into a renewed policy. Through the 'Water Refill Program', there is a broader commitment to a more sustainable Curaçao, both short term and long term. The Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations became the compass of the program.

Core values of the program are:
1. Environmental protection

2. Social development

3. Economic Development

Based on these core values, 10 sustainability objectives have been set up. Dolphin Suites & Wellness Curaçao is going to focus on three of these 10 sustainability goals.
