D-TAP FOUNDATION
Our story
We share a passion for enhancing the wellbeing of our planet, the communities we live in and our individual paths. We believe that individual action can make a difference, but together we can make the change. With these believes we started in 2019 'water refill program D-TAP'. We wanted to make our impact bigger and more fundamental. That is why we aligned our strategy with the global goals of the United Nations in December 2020. As the Water Refill Program developed we saw that the power of giving and the connectivity changed the perspective on sustainability in our community, providing support and inspiration to those who want to be sustainable, and empowering people to realise their potential and their talents.
Therefore, in December 2021, we set up D-TAP Foundation. The foundation's goal is to use the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its compass, through connection within the community and helping others in achieving results faster and more cost effective and non-profit organizations to achieve bigger social impact. We want our work to be measured not just in terms of 'doing good', but as an active and accountable partner that builds and scales sustainable, long-term solutions to make your city or country the best place to live in or to visit.
"Over 1 million plastic bottle are purchased every minute worldwide
and nearly 80% of these end up in our landfills and oceans.
At this rate, the amount of single-use plastic ending up in our oceans
will outweigh fish by 2050, unless we make a change."
About us

With our Water Refill Programs in cities or countries we want to ban single-use plastic water bottles entering our planet and to encourage sustainable partnerships with local stakeholders. We believe business can be a drive to make the change together.

First we set up a network of resellers and refill points. We bring all parties from our communities together and search for a win-win situation for each participant in the program, in their own field and their own capabilities. Our starting points and goals are; reducing the use of single-use plastic, create awareness and/or stimulation for reuse, support in house sustainability policy, supporting environmental education, encourage people to drink more water for good health and create economical benefits. At the same time we want to empower the whole community for working together for a sustainable healthy world.
How we work
Local artist Serena Israel from Chi chi Curaçao with her team. The Chi Chi Art & souvenir shop is reseller of the water bottle.
Artist Jacques Tange designed the special edition
'Schiedam Blue' D-TAP water bottle for our program in Schiedam

Every city or country has it own special edition design bottle, designed by a local artist or illustrator. With this special edition bottle we want to create awarenesses for the artist his or her work and the art sector. Art is a vital element for our community. It strengthens local economies and creates jobs for people who care about the community. It is a great way for local people and tourist to learn about culture, enjoy artistic experiences, support the economy and being sustainable by using a reusable water bottle.

We donate 5% of our revenue to local non-profit organizations dedicated to the conservation of endangered animals, ecological research, environmental education, and to create awareness for reuse, reduce and recycle. Children are the centre of our sustainable goals, we must educate the next generation to ensure sustainable development.
